LG releases a series of powerful but affordable sound bars

LG’s latest SK6 and SK5 sound bars use DTS Virtual: X capabilities to produce 360-degree sound for greater atmospheric effect. Simply put, if there’s a thunder clap in the movie you’re watching, the sound bars will produce it as though it’s coming from overhead.

The SK6 may be small, but it still easily fills your living room with sound.

Because it’s a Wi-Fi sound bar with Chromecast support, you can stream music direct to your SK6 from apps like Pandora and Google Play Music. The sound bar also works with Google Assistant, so you can play music, control the volume, and skip tracks with just your voice. Devices with Google Assistant built-in can also stream music to it directly.

Both sound bars can reproduce music at up to 96kHz/24-bit quality, and offer support for a large number of popular audio file formats. They also come with LG’s Adaptive Sound Control technology, so you’ll get the best audio experience no matter what content you’re viewing.  You’ll also be able to control the sound bars using your own TV remote.

Both the SK5 is another simply designed sound bar.

The SK6 measures 950.0 x 55.0 x 85.0mm and weighs 3.0 kg, while the accompanying subwoofer measures 171.0 x 393.0 x 248.5mm and weighs 5.3kg. As for the SK5, this measures 891.0 x 57.5 x 87.8mm and weighs 2.35kg, while the subwoofer weighs 171.0 x 393.0 x 248.5mm and weighs 5.3kg.

The SK6 and SK5 sound bars will be available from April 2018 at all authorized resellers for S$699 and S$449 respectively.
