LG introduces the world's first 12-inch high-resolution Stretchable display
LG Display just announced the world's first 12-inch high-resolution Stretchable display.
The Stretchable display is also the first in the industry to achieve 20% stretchability, a resolution of 100ppi, and full-color RGB. In addition, it has free-form technology which allows it to be extended, folded and twisted without distortion or damage.
Built with a highly-resilient film-type substrate, the Stretchable display can be stretched up to 14 inches. It uses a microLED light source with a pixel pitch of less than 40μm.
LG Display says the Stretchabe display can be easily attached to curved surfaces such as clothing, furniture, automobiles and aircraft. Hence, the company claims its Stretchabe display surpasses existing foldable and rollable technology. Samsung Display confirmed last year that it is working on rollable and sliding displays.
