LG G6 will launch in Korea on 10 March with a premium price tag
Although LG claimed that the G-series will be targeting lower price points, the G6 smartphone will cost a little more than its predecessors.
According to The Investor, LG's mobile chief Cho Juno revealed that the G6 will launch in Korea first on 10 March with a price tag of 899,800 won (~S$1,116.53). In comparison, LG had maintained the launch prices of the G5 and G4 below S$1,000.
Considering that the G6 has improvements in the battery, design, display and cameras, and the Galaxy S8's rumored starting price of US$849 (~S$1,204), consumers may be willing to stomach the price increment of slightly over S$100.
Cho expressed his confidence that the G6 will sell better than the G5 and the V20 phones. In fact, the company has secured enough stocks to sell this time andwill make new investments for promotional activities in April and May. Full-scale shipment is expected to begin in Q3.
