LG G6 will have the world's first QHD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio

LG Display has officially confirmed one of the specs of the upcoming G6 smartphone - its display.

As reported by The Korea Herald, LG Display states that the G6 flagship smartphone will have a 5.7-inch "Quad HD+" LCD display with an aspect ratio of 18:9. This aspect ratio is said to provide a more immersive experience and better optimized for multitasking with the dual-screen feature. In addition, the G6 will have a pixel density of 564ppi.

“QHD+ is expected to maximize users’ experience and value by providing ultra-high definition, differentiating it from all other mobile display panels,” said Kim Byeong-koo, senior vice president and head of mobile development group 1 at LG Display.

The "Quad HD+" LCD display will boast better sunlight legibility and consumes about 30% lesser power. The use of in-Touch technology also reduces the thickness and width of the bezels as the touch sensor is now embedded within the display panel.
