LG G6 comes to Singapore on 14th April at S$988

Are you excited for LG’s newest flagship smartphone? The LG G6 will be available in Singapore at S$988, starting from 14th April 2017. It can be found at authorized retailers and at fellow telcos M1, Singtel, and StarHub. Colors available are Astro Black, Ice Platinum, and Mystic White. Each LG G6 purchase comes with a free flip case worth S$58 (while stocks last) and an additional year of warranty.

18:9 aspect ratio

Previously, we’ve had our hands on the LG G6 at MWC 2017. We saw its 5.7-inch FullVision Display with 18:9 aspect ratio and we touched on the possible use cases for your average phone user.  The impressive display also supports HDR video content (Dolby Vision and HDR10 formats). According to LG, this means that the G6 supports HDR videos from Netflix and Amazon.

No more modular-type design

Another significant change in the LG G6 is the departure from the predecessor’s modular-type design, and it’s further enhanced with a flat surface for its camera housing. LG also made the 3,300mAh battery non-removable. The water-resistant body with IP68 rating (up to 1.5m of water, 30 minutes) is made from a combination of aluminum and glass, with a metal frame and a high-gloss rear.

13-megapixel dual rear cameras

The new LG G6 kept the dual rear camera arrangement. Similar to the previous configuration, one lens is specifically for wide-angle shots (now with a 125° field of view) and a normal rear camera system (with 71° field-of-view). They are both at 13MP resolution. A new feature to the camera’s interface is the Square Camera mode, which shoots in perfect 1:1 squares. The LG G6 can display two square photos at once (one above another) so users can preview their previous image while preparing to shoot the next. To get a better feel of how it works, we've covered the usage of this mode in our detailed video.

There’s no mistake that the LG G6 is also a flagship product along with the LG V series phones. Within the G6 comes a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor; it has a 10% increase in overall performance when compared to Qualcomm’s 2016 flagship processor, the Snapdragon 820.
