LG G5 rumored to have dual displays, dual cameras and hardware expansion slot
LG is said to be taking a different approach for its upcoming G5 flagship smartphone.
According to VentureBeat, the metal-clad G5 will inherit some design elements from its predecessors as well as the current V10 smartphone. For example, the G5 may sport a secondary display similar to the V10 where the time, notifications, favorite apps and functions are shown.
Other rumored specs include a 5.3-inch Quad-HD display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage space, a dual-lens setup on the rear for 135-degree wide-angle capability, a fingerprint sensor and a 2,800mAh removable battery. There are also two LED flash bulbs, a laser autofocus module and a RGB sensor on the rear.
The most interesting titbit is the inclusion of a hardware expansion slot which is branded as the "Magic Slot". This slot allows the user to add extra functionality to the G5 via hardware modules which can include cameras, audio amplifier and a physical keyboard.
The G5 is given a general launch timing in Q1 2016, which is in line with what ETNews reported in November 2015. The dual-camera setup, metal chassis and fingerprint sensor are also previously reported by Reddit user mobile_leaks.
