LG G5 to have a modular design for sliding out batteries?

It is rumored previously that the LG G5 may come with a "Magic Slot" where users can add extra functionality to the phone via hardware modules. CNET Korea apparently has new information on the modular design based on an eyewitness' testimony.

LG is said to be testing out several potential modular designs, one of which involves a draw-like concept to replace batteries in the G5. Instead of removing the rear cover to access the battery, the entire section at the bottom can be disassembled. LG may shift the volume controls to the side of the G5, which seems unlikely considering how the rear button setup has been a signature design of LG's flagship phones.

The idea behind this concept is to create a thinner design while still offering a removable battery. Other rumored specs include dual displays, dual cameras, a 5.3-inch Quad-HD display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage space. The G5 is expected to be launched sometime in Q1.
