In addition to showcasing transparent TVs at CES 2021, LG has said that they will also demo a 48-inch Bendable Cinematic Sound OLED (CSO) display that is optimised for gaming.

The idea behind this is that users can have a flat-screen to watch TV or a movie, and then have it turn into a curved display for gaming so that they enjoy a uniform viewing distance from the middle of the screen to its edge for an immersive gaming experience. LG says that the display can be made to bend up to a radius of 1,000mm without affecting its functions.

Dr. Chang-ho Oh, Executive Vice President & Head of the TV Business Unit at LG Display said:

LG Display’s 48-inch Bendable CSO display is optimised for gaming as it maximises the use of advanced technology that produces another level in terms of providing an immersive experience. In other words, it offers the very best gaming environment to gamers.

LG says that the 0.6mm thick new transparent display supports variable refresh rate going from 40Hz to 120Hz and a response time of 0.1 milliseconds (ms). They added that their CSO technology enables the OLED display to vibrate and make their own sound without the use of any speakers.
