Lenovo has announced the IdeaPad Miix 700 and the IdeaCentre AIO 700 for home users

The Lenovo IdeaPad Miix 700 is a 12-inch, 2-in-1 convertible PC that features hinge kickstand, with two watchband hinges. It reminds us of the stainless steel watchband-inspired hinge of the Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro. The IdeaPad Miix 700 is powered by the 6th generation Intel “Skylake” mobile processor. The exact details of the processor isn’t revealed but it could be any of the Intel Core m processors that are listed here.

In terms of system memory, it maxes out at 8GB LPDDR3L. The Miix 700 doesn’t offer any options for a discrete graphics chipset, and its 12-inch display has a maximum resolution of 2160 x 1440 pixels resolution. It weighs 780g, and boasts of a thickness of 0.35 inches (8.95mm). You get to opt for either Windows 10 Home or Pro for its OS. In terms of storage, its highest end option is a 256GB SSD. It has a 5MP front camera and its rear Intel RealSense 3D 5MP camera is where all the fun begins! The IdeaPad Miix 700 starts at US$699; it’s only available from November 2015.

The Lenovo IdeaCentre AIO 700 desktop PC is targeted at music and movie aficionados with its “strong CPU performance, screen resolution and memory capacity.” Powered by the latest Intel “Skylake” Intel Core i7 CPU, the PC supports up to 16GB of DDR4 RAM. Its 27-inch, UHD display supports up to 10-point touch inputs. You can use voice commands as the system features Intel Voice Recognition; there’s also an Intel RealSense 3D camera. You can opt for the NVIDIA GTX 950A 2GB graphics chipset as the most powerful graphics option. Its storage options are as follows:-

  • Up to 2TB HDD, 7200rpm
  • Up to 2TB SSHD, 7200 rpm, with 8GB of onboard flash memory
  • Up to 192GB SSD

For wireless connectivity, the system supports Wi-Fi 802.11ac or b/g/n standards; there’s also Bluetooth 4.0. For rear I/O ports, there are:- 1 x USB 3.0, 2 x USB 2.0, 1 x Gigabit LAN port. The side ports consist of:- 2 x USB 3.0, 6-in-1 multi-card Reader (SD, SDHC, SDXC, MultiMediaCard, Memory Stick, Memory Stick Pro), 1 x microphone/headphone combo, 1 x HDMI-out 1 x HDMI-in. This AIO operates on Windows 10 Home, and is priced from US$1,899; there’s also a 24-inch version that is priced from US$1,099. The IdeaCentre AIO 700 is only available from October 2015.
