Lenovo Business-Focused Desktop Trio Gives Customers Extra Productivity and Savings

SINGAPORE – November 15, 2010: Lenovo today introduced its newest desktops in the ThinkCentre M Series - the ThinkCentre M70z, M75e and M80. Designed for large businesses, this desktop trio gives customers advanced productivity technologies, such as Intel iCore/AMD Phenom II processors and support for multiple displays along with unique Lenovo extras, such as super fast boot up and advanced web conferencing.

Ronnie Lee, Country General Manager, Lenovo Singapore: “The economy seems to have recovered and the market is ready for investment in office productivity tools such as PCs. According to Gartner, PC shipments are set to grow about 15 per cent in Singapore this year, fuelled mainly by replacement demand in the enterprise space,”

With the ThinkCentre M70z, businesses have another option for a sleek and compact all-in-one desktop. Customers will enjoy style and space-savings along with the performance, security, manageability and energy efficiency features of our M Series enterprise desktops.

Mr. Lee continued: “Even for customers that enjoy dedicated IT department support, at the end of the day, all they want is reliable, cost-effective and hassle-free technology that allows them to focus on growing their business. With this new set of desktop offerings, Lenovo delivers solutions that make their computing experience productive and simple.”

Power-Packed All-in-One

The ThinkCentre M70z blends style, performance and extra features that make a difference into one machine. This powerful all-in-one keeps pace with separate desktop and monitor solutions: it can boot up in about 30 seconds, crunch intensive data and multitask using Intel Core i5 or i3 processors. The M70z provides seamless connectivity at the desk using its Gigabit Ethernet or it can connect through WiFi for a clean work space without a cable.

The all-in-one also sets the bar high for the video conferencing experience. It has an elegant 19-inch display, a high definition web camera, separate microphone and mute buttons, and a DVD player and DisplayPort for watching high definition content. To safeguard privacy, the web camera even comes with a physical cover to easily control when the web camera is on or off. An optional touchscreen brings a new dimension to the computing experience enhanced with Lenovo’s Simple Tap, a touch-enabled PC navigation package.

While most of the attention has been focused on all-in-ones for consumer markets, there is also a renewed interest in corporate markets, which increasingly are looking for systems that take less time to set up. All-in-One (AIO) systems are expected to see steady corporate growth through 2014, resulting in 5% to 10% of corporate desktop purchases in that time frame.

“Lenovo provides out-of-the-box solutions to simplify the corporate user’s computing experience. Lenovo PCs incorporate a management and productivity software tool called ThinkVantage Technologies (for Think-branded PCs) that help with everything from backup and data recovery to simplifying Internet connection,” said Mr Lee. “For example, ThinkVantage Technologies has proved useful to the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes Formula One team for their wireless communications during races. These value-added technologies unique to Lenovo PCs offer enterprise customers a secure and convenient computing experience.

The All-in-One not only makes performance powerful, but also efficient for businesses and the environment. Using the included power management tools, businesses can save more than US$50 a year per desktop. The M70z also uses nearly 50 percent recycled content and meets many environmental certifications, including TCO Certified Edge, EPEAT Gold, Energy Star 5.0 and GreenGuard.

Desktop Options Focus on Performance

The ThinkCentre M75e and M80 tower and small form factor desktops give customers several options if they are looking for powerful performance at price levels ranging from entry to mainstream. The M75e comes equipped with choices of AMD Athlon II or Phenom II processors, which speed up boot time to about 30 seconds. The M75e can drive two or four displays for users who need multiple monitors. The desktop also features four memory slots for upgradeability, DASH management functionality and USB enablement/disablement for security. The M80 features choices of the latest Intel Core i3, i5 or i7 processors, Gigabit Ethernet, a DVD player or burner and multiple USB ports for connecting to peripherals. Both desktops offer Energy Star 5.0 models.

Pricing and Availability

The desktops are currently available on http://www.lenovo.com/sg and through Lenovo business partners. Pricing for models of the ThinkCentre M70z, M75e and M80 start at approximately SGD 1,844, SGD 1,283 and SGD 1,513, respectively.
