Leica's newest version of the Q2 celebrates the upcoming Bond movie No Time To Die

Leica has just announced a new variant of its popular compact fixed-lens full-frame Q2 camera. The latest version is called the Q2 007 Edition and it celebrates the brand's involvement in the upcoming Bond flick No Time to Die.

There are a handful of things that make this Q2 stand out. The lens cap features the iconic Bond gun barrel design and there's a 007 logo on the deck cap. Also, this camera is finished in Ocean Green leather.

Finally, the Q2 007 Edition will come in a customised and handcrafted case made by British suitcase maker Globe-Trotter. The case comes finished in the same Ocean Green leather as the camera.

There are no changes to the camera's technical specifications. Like the regular Q2, the Q2 007 Edition has a 47.3-megapixel full-frame sensor, 28mm F1.7 Summilux lens, and Leica's Maestro II image processor. Expect to take the same great images that you get with the regular Q2.

If all of these seem somewhat familiar to you that's because Leica announced a Q2 Edition Daniel Craig x Greg Williams earlier this year. Craig is, of course, the English actor who is the current James Bond.

While that version was limited to 750 pieces, the Q2 007 Edition is much more exclusive as only 250 pieces will be made. Personally, I prefer the Danieg Craig x Greg Williams version because its black and gold colour scheme is killer. That said, the exclusivity of the 007 Edition might make it more of a collectible in the future.

Availability and pricing

The Leica Q2 007 Edition is available now at Leica boutiques across the island and online for S$11,690. The regular Q2 is S$8,200.
