Leica launches the M11 Monochrom: A fresh approach to black and white photography

Leica Camera has unveiled its newest model, the Leica M11 Monochrom, specifically crafted for fans of black and white photography. This camera places emphasis on light and shadow, offering a unique approach to visual storytelling.

Equipped with a dedicated monochrome multi-resolution full-frame BSI sensor, the M11 Monochrom captures images that highlight the relationship between light and shadow. This focus provides visual storytellers with a means to produce captivating images.

Leica is known for its unconventional design choices, including a digital camera without an LCD screen and the 2012 launch of the first monochrome sensor camera, the Leica M Monochrom.

The Leica M11 Monochrom seamlessly blends functionality and design, boasting an all-metal body, premium aluminum top plate, sapphire glass display, leatherette covering, and a scratch-resistant black finish. Interestingly, the camera's minimalist design excludes the Leica logo and incorporates a dark chrome-plated coating on the optical viewfinder for a subtle, refined appearance.

The M11 Monochrom allows photographers greater creative flexibility with raw files in DNG format or JPEGs at resolutions of 60, 36, or 18 megapixels. The wide ISO range of 125 to 200,000 enables versatile image capture in various lighting situations while maintaining low noise levels at high ISO settings.

To address storage needs, the camera's internal memory has been expanded to 256GB, ensuring ample space for projects and backups. The Leica M11 Monochrom also includes Bluetooth and USB-C connectivity, facilitating easy image transfer and editing using the Leica FOTOS app. As an Apple "Made for iPhone and iPad" certified accessory, the camera also provides extra options with the bundled Leica FOTOS cable.

Retailing at S$13,470, the Leica M11 Monochrom is now available for purchase at Leica Stores, the Leica Online Store, and authorised dealers globally.
