Leica unveils "Street Kit" for its compact D-Lux 7 camera
Leica has just announced a "Street Kit" for its compact D-Lux 7 camera. Essentially, it adds new accessories to the D-Lux 7 which Leica says makes the camera even more ideal for travel and street photography.
At the heart of this kit is the Leica D-Lux 7 in black. It's a small and stealthy camera – save for the bright red Leica logo at the front.
The kit then adds a matching black hand grip, a spare battery, a black paracord wrist strap by COOPH, and a rather ingenious auto lens cap.
The auto lens cap has a specially-designed mechanism that opens automatically when the camera is turned on. This saves precious seconds since there's no need to remove the cap whenever you want to shoot.
For its part, the Leica D-Lux 7 mates a 17-megapixel Micro Four Thirds to Leica's DC Vario-Summilux 10.9-34mm F1.7-2.8 ASPH lens (24-75mm full-frame equivalent). The camera was released in late 2018.
And if these specs sound familiar, that's because it's similar to the Panasonic Lumix LX100 II.
Availability and pricing
The Leica D-Lux 7 Street Kit is priced at S$2,250 and you can find it on the Leica Online Store and at all Leica boutiques.
