The popular password manager LastPass is making some significant changes to its free service.
From 16 March 2021, LastPass' free reservice will only allow users to access the service on one type of device.
Users will be prompted to choose between computer or mobile. Thereafter, LastPass Free will work on all computers or on all mobile devices.
Computers include desktops and notebooks, while mobile devices include phones, tablets, and smartwatches.
And while you would be restricted to one type of device, LastPass will continue to allow you to add an unlimited number of devices as long as its within the same category. So if you picked computer, you can access LastPass on an unlimited number of desktops or notebooks.
If you want to access LastPass across both devices, you'll have to subscribe to LastPass' Premium service.
LastPass Premium starts at US$3 per month (~S$3.98) for a single user while a Families subscription is US$4 per month (~S$5.31) and includes licenses for up to six users.
If you upgrade now, LastPass is offering a promo rate of US$2.25 per month (~S$2.99).
