JBL launches eight new headphones for 2021 across its Tune and Live series

JBL Live Pro+.

It's the CES period once again, and JBL came out of the gate really strongly here. In its bid to have a personal audio product available for just about anyone and everyone, JBL launched four new Tune headphones, and four other Live headphones across a variety of formats: in-ear, over-ear and true wireless earbuds. Without further ado, below are the new entrants.

Prices and availability stated below are on par with its global launch in U.S. dollars. We will update the piece when local prices and launch dates are announced.

JBL Tune series

JBL Tune 660NC.

New to the JBL Tune series are the flagship Tune 660NC and Tune 510BT over-ear headphones, and two in-ear models, Tune 215BT and Tune 125BT.

Both Tune 660NC and Tune 510BT are similar, except for the Tune 660NC's active noise cancelling capabilities. According to JBL, the Tune 660NC can pump out 44 hours of playback even with ANC switched on, while the Tune 510BT has 40 hours battery life. Both units pair to its audio device via Bluetooth 5.0 and both also come with a Speed Charge feature that grants two hours of playback on a five-minute charging time.

The JBL Tune 660NC retails at US$99.95 in three colours - black, blue, and white. The JBL Tune 510BT retails at US$49.95 in black, blue, and white.

JBL Tune 215BT.

In the in-ear department comes the JBL Tune 215BT and the Tune 125BT. Over here, JBL trades generous battery lives for heightened portability and ease of use. Both models use a tangle-free flat cable and are also supported with Bluetooth 5.0. The key difference? Tune 215BT comes with earbuds of fixed size and shape, while the 125BT uses the softer, silicone-styled earbuds. Both versions offer up to 16 hours of playback.

Both JBL Tune 215BT and JBL Tune 125BT retail at US$39.95 in black or white.

All four Tune headsets begin global sales on 14 March 2021.

JBL Live series

While there are four new JBL Live products launched, the headlining model is none other than the JBL Live Pro+ true wireless earbuds that clinched "Best of Innovation Honoree" at CES 2021 Innovation Awards.

JBL Live Pro+.

The JBL Live Pro+ pack Adaptive Noise Cancelling with Smart Ambient, which really is active noise cancelling combined with the headphone's ability to identify important noises for a safer commute. It also packs in Qi-compatible wireless charging, and its built-in microphones help mitigate echoes in calls. It's also IPX4 water-resistant, with up to seven hours of playback in the TWS and a charging case that comes with another 21 hours. The JBL Live Free NC+ is similar, less the echo-cancelling mic technology and app compatibility that comes with the Live Pro+ instead.

The JBL Live Pro+ retails at US$179.95 while the JBL Live Free NC+ goes at US$149.95.

JBL Live 660NC.

In the over-ear headphones corner comes the JBL Live 660NC and Live 460NC. Both models pack a ton of quality-of-life features like Auto Play/Pause, Adaptive Noise Cancelling with Smart Ambient, and hands-free voice support for Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. The main difference between both models lies in the earcups, with the Live 660NC packing a more generous form factor while the JBL Live 460NC uses a much slimmer profile with cups that sit directly on the ears.

The JBL Live 660NC retails at US$199.95 in black, blue and white. JBL Live 460NC retails at US$129.95 in black, blue, white, and rose.

The four new JBL Live products all begin global retail on 14 March 2021.
