Jaguar Land Rover and NVIDIA have just announced a partnership that will see all future Jaguar Land Rover cars powered by NVIDIA's Drive technology.

This is all part of Jaguar Land Rover's ambitious Reimagine strategy which seeks to transform and redefine the modern luxury experience for its customers.

Thierry Bolloré, Jaguar Land Rover Chief Executive Officer, said:

Collaboration and knowledge- sharing with industry leader NVIDIA is essential to realising our Reimagine strategy, setting new benchmarks in quality, technology and sustainability.

Jaguar Land Rover will become the creator of the world’s most desirable luxury vehicles and services for the most discerning customers. Our long-term strategic partnership with NVIDIA will unlock a world of potential for our future vehicles as the business continues its transformation into a truly global, digital powerhouse.

To realise this, Jaguar Land Rover recognised that it needed to differentiate itself from its competitors with a software-defined platform and has therefore chosen NVIDIA's Drive technology to power it.

As part of today's announcement, Jaguar Land Rover said that starting in 2025, all new Jaguar and Land Rover cars will be built of NVIDIA's Drive platform which will incorporate autonomous driving technologies, active safety, and drive assistance systems.

In addition, the system will also have AI features including driver and occupant monitoring as well as advanced visualisations of a car's surroundings.

These features will be powered by NVIDIA's Hyperion platform which features Drive Orin chips which can deliver up to 200 trillion operations per second and can scale from SAE Level 2 to Level 5 cars.

Crucially, Jaguar and Land Rover cars built using NVIDIA Drive will be able to leverage NVIDIA's in-house AI training models and Drive Sim software. This will allow it to receive assisted and automated driving services throughout the life of the vehicle via over-the-air software updates.

Jensen Huang, NVIDIA's founder and CEO, said:

Next-generation cars will transform automotive into one of the largest and most advanced technology industries. Fleets of software-defined, programmable cars will offer new functionalities and services for the life of the vehicles. We are thrilled to partner with Jaguar Land Rover to reimagine the future of transportation and create the most advanced cars.

Unfortunately, Jaguar Land Rover did not reveal which will be the first model to incorporate these new suite of technologies.
