It's the beginning of the end for Microsoft Paint

Update: Microsoft has put out a blog post saying that it'll be putting the much-loved program on the Windows Store.

Microsoft has announced a list of new features for its Windows 10 Fall Creators update, but it could also mark the beginning of the end for some older features, including Microsoft's iconic MS Paint, which was included in the very first version of Windows 1.0 back in 1985.

MS Paint is included in a list of removed and deprecated features that it will stop actively developing with the release of Windows 10 Fall Creators update. Despite this, Microsoft actively denied Paint's demise in a statement it sent to The New York Times, while also taking the opportunity to promote Windows' Paint 3D, a spinoff of MS Paint with several 3D modeling features:

"MS Paint is not going away. In addition to the new 3D capabilities, many of the MS Paint features people know and love like photo editing and 2D creation are in Paint 3D -- the new app for creativity, available for free with the Windows 10 Creators update."
