The iPhone X might not have the highest screen-to-body ratio
The iPhone X might have an edge-to-edge Super Retina display, but it is unlikely to have the highest screen-to-body ratio of any phone in the industry as claimed by KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
GSMArena took the time and effort to do the calculations and compared the iPhone X against two recently announced bezel-lesss phones, the LG V30 and Xiaomi Mi Mix 2. We also obtained the screen-to-body ratios of the Samsung Galaxy S8, S8+ and Galaxy Note8 from Forbes.
Device | Screen-to-body ratio |
Apple iPhone X | 81.49% |
LG V30 | 83.24% |
Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 | 82.63% |
Samsung Galaxy S8 | 83.60% |
Samsung Galaxy S8+ | 84.00% |
Samsung Galaxy Note8 | 83.20% |
Assuming the numbers calculated by these publications are accurate, the iPhone X actually has the lowest screen-to-body ratio among the phones compared. The 6.2-inch Galaxy S8+ currently has the highest screen-to-body ratio of 84%.
