iPhone users can soon transfer WhatsApp chat history without iCloud

WhatsApp is working on a feature to allow iPhone users to transfer chat history to a new device without iCloud.

WABetaInfo discovered within the latest WhatsApp beta for iOS 23.9.0.72 an option that allows iPhone users to migrate their chat history to a new iPhone without iCloud.

As seen in the screenshot above, some beta users discovered the option to migrate chat history to a new iPhone without iCloud backup. For iPhone users who are not paying for extra iCloud storage space, they are limited by the 5GB free storage space.

If and when WhatsApp rolls out the new feature, iPhone users will no longer need to rely on iCloud to transfer their chat history to a new device.
