Some iPhone 14 Pro users are reporting big drops in battery health

The Apple iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.

Some Apple iPhone 14 Pro users have experienced a significant drop in the battery health of their devices less than a year after their purchase.

According to 9to5Mac, users have shared on Twitter, Reddit and other social media platforms about the lower-than-expected battery health of their iPhone 14 Pro.

9to5Mac has even compiled a list of users who shared screenshots of their iPhone 14 Pro battery's "Maximum Capacity" with 90% or less.

We noticed discussions about the battery health of their iPhone 14 Pro devices on our forums, but similar experiences were few.

One user claims his iPhone 14, which was purchased in November 2022, currently has a maximum battery capacity of 89%. Another user is concerned about the rapid drop to 91% after less than a year of usage, and states it is "not impossible not to hit below 85%" in time to come.

Apple stated on its website that a normal iPhone battery can retain up to 80% of its original capacity after 500 complete charge cycles when operating under normal conditions.

The iPhone is eligible for a free battery replacement with AppleCare+ if its battery holds less than 80% of its original capacity.

Otherwise, a battery replacement fee of $150.39 (based on Apple's Get an Estimate tool) is applicable for the iPhone 14 Pro. To check the battery health of your iPhone (with iOS 16.1 or later), go to Settings > Battery > Battery Health & Charging.
