iPhone 13 Pro said to have major upgrades to the ultra-wide camera

As Apple prepares to launch the pre-orders for the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 mini, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo released his report on what to expect from the iPhone 13 Pro next year.

According to the reliable analyst, "significant" improvements are expected to be coming to the ultra-wide camera on the iPhone 13 Pro. The aperture will be widened from f/2.4 to f/1.8, which should help take in more light and improve low-light performance for ultra-wide photos. The number of elements in the lens will be increased from five to six, which should help reduce distortion in ultra-wide photos. The ultra-wide lens will get autofocus for the first time which comes in handy for closer wide-angle shots.

Kuo expects fewer production challenges for the iPhone 13 lineup as manufacturers work around the Covid-19 pandemic. He also believes the demand for 5G will be higher next year as telcos around the world roll out their 5G networks. This will in turn attract consumers to upgrade to the 5G iPhone models.
