iPhone 13 Pro Max said to have the best main camera in its lineup

Apple is likely to continue keeping the best camera hardware for the Pro Max model.

According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the main camera on the iPhone 13 Pro Max will have a slightly wider aperture than the other models in the lineup. Kuo claims that the main camera on the iPhone 13 Pro Max will come with an aperture of f/1.5 compared to the f/1.6 aperture on the other models.

As the difference between f/1.5 and f/1.6 is less than a quarter of a stop, users are unlikely to tell the difference between them. Nonetheless, a wider aperture helps to take in more light for better low-light performance and offers a shallower depth of field.

Kuo previously mentioned that the iPhone 13 Pro models are expected to have major upgrades to the ultra-wide camera. The aperture will be widened and the number of the elements in the lens will be increased. In addtion, the ultra-wide angle lens will get autofocus.

A recent report by Max Weinbach suggests that the iPhone 13 Pro models can take better portrait shots as the LiDAR scanner will be used for better edge detection. Other rumoured specs include a matte black option, an in-display Touch ID,120Hz displays, bigger batteries, an always-on display, Wi-Fi 6E connectivity, support for mmWave and sub-6GHz, and a thinner notch.

The iPhone 13 is said to be on track to launch in late September although some models could be available at a later date due to "product model tweaks".
