The iPhone 11 was the top-selling smartphone in Q1 2020 according to Omdia

The Apple iPhone 11.

Even though the global smartphone market saw its biggest fall in shipments in February, Apple managed to ship more iPhone 11 units than any other phone makers in the market.

Research data shared by Omdia indicates that Apple shipped an estimated 19.5 million iPhone 11 units in the first quarter of the year. The volume is almost three times higher than the Samsung Galaxy A51, which saw shipment numbers of 6.8 million units.

Xiaomi took the third and fourth position with the Redmi Note 8 and Note 8 Pro. Rounding up the top five list is the iPhone XR. The iPhone XR fared better than the iPhone 11 Pro Max (6th position) and the iPhone 11 Pro (8th position).

The iPhone 11 has been a hot seller for Apple since its launch. Apple CEO Tim Cook shared in January this year that the iPhone 11 was the best-selling iPhone model every week of the holiday quarter in 2019.
