Apple unveiled iPadOS 16 earlier this year at WWDC 2022. The new iPadOS included several new features but the highlight is arguably Stage Manager, a new multi-tasking feature that was designed to help users switch between apps more quickly and intuitively.

However, as iPadOS 16 went into beta, users complained that it was buggy. This led Federico Viticci, a prominent iPad user and advocate, to call on Apple to delay the launch of iPadOS. He said in a tweet that Stage Manager  "crashes every few minutes" and that there were "UI glitches everywhere."

And in late August, Apple confirmed that iPadOS will ship after iOS, which is really another way of saying that it will be delayed. Not only that, it will be released as iPadOS 16.1.

And while Apple later confirmed that iPadOS 16 will ship in October, they did not give a specific date.

But according to Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, iPadOS 16 will likely arrive sometime during the week of 24 October. He said in a tweet that Apple has historically held launches during the week of its earnings calls. This also means we could see Apple announce new iPads and Macs during that week.

In addition, Apple is likely to also release macOS Ventura alongside iPadOS 16. Like iPadOS 16, macOS Ventura was announced at WWDC 2022 and it too counts Stage Manager as one of its key new features.
