iPad and MacBook with full mini-LED displays to arrive in late 2020?

The iPad Pro 11-inch.

Apple could be introducing mini-LED displays to its products as early as later this year.

Reliable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reiterates that Apple is likely to launch a 31.6-inch 6K external display in the second or third quarter of this year and it will come with a mini-LED backlight.

By late 2020 or early 2021, Apple is expected to launch a new iPad and new MacBook with true end-to-end mini-LED displays. The mini-LED iPad is said to sport a display size of between 10 to 12 inches while the mini-LED MacBook is likely to come with a screen size of around 15 to 17 inches.

Apple is reportedly interested in mini-LED screen panels as they offer a rich wide color gamut, high contrast ratios, high dynamic range and localized dimming. They are also expected to be thinner, more power efficient and do not suffer from burn-in unlike OLED.
