iOS 10 will finally let you delete Apple apps from your iPhone

Bye guys.

I don’t know about you, but I have a special ‘Apple’ folder I keep on the last page of my Home screen, for all the stock apps that I never use (e.g. Podcasts, Tips, iBooks).

From iOS 1 to 9, it’s never been possible to delete these stock apps. From iOS 10 however, you’ll be able to uninstall most of them. Here’s a full list of built-in apps you can (finally) remove from the Home screen:

  • Calculator
  • Calendar
  • Compass
  • Contacts
  • FaceTime
  • Find My Friends
  • Home
  • iBooks
  • iCloud Drive
  • iTunes Store
  • Mail
  • Maps
  • Music
  • News
  • Notes
  • Podcasts
  • Reminders
  • Stocks
  • Tips
  • Videos
  • Voice Memos
  • Watch app
  • Weather

Unfortunately, Game Center is not in that list — gah! You’ll also notice that vital apps, like Messages, Photos, and Camera, cannot be deleted.

If you ever find yourself missing a stock app you’ve uninstalled, you can reinstall them for free from the App Store (The Verge reports that you can now download stock apps from the US App Store, but we don’t see them yet on the Singapore store).

The iOS 10 will arrive in Q3 2016, check out its key updates

The iOS 10 beta is available now for developers, and the public beta will start in July. The iOS 10 update will be available for all sometime in fall 2016 (Q3 2016).

Check out the top 10 updates for the recently announced iOS 10 here.
