Insta360 unveils an AI-powered 4K webcam with 3-axis gimbal and 1/2” sensor

Insta360 just announced an AI-powered 4K webcam with 3-axis gimbal and 1/2" sensor.

The 3-axis gimbal lens deploys AI tracking to track your movement during a video call and keep you perfectly centered at all times. In addition, you can use hand gestures to enable AI tracking, zoom in/out and activate other camera modes on the Insta360 Link.

With the 1/2" sensor, the Insta360 Link will be able to capture more details, deliver more dynamic range and have better low-light performance. There is also a specialised HDR mode to offer greater balance between highlights and shadows so as to ensure the background doesn't get blown out by a nearby window or light source.

The Insta360 Link also has True Focus, which is a combination of Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF) and auto exposure technology for near-instant focusing.

You can easily toggle between showing your face and the tabletop with DeskView Mode. The software algorithms will level the perspective for easy viewing of documents, which makes it perfect for presenting during video calls. There are also other modes: whiteboard, portrait and overhead for different usage scenarios.

The Insta360 Link is now available for purchase from Insta360.com and select retailers at US$299.99. It is fully compatible with Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Skype, Google Meet and other platforms on macOS and Windows devices.
