IBM’s AI program can predict which employees are about to throw in the towel

IBM’s artificial intelligence human resource program is able to predict which employees are about to resign. IBM claims the AI program has an uncanny accuracy of 95%.

This was revealed during IBM CEO Ginni Rometty’s TV interview with CNBC, and due to the company’s firm commitment to developing its AI capabilities; this AI retention tool has saved IBM almost US$300 million in retention costs.

According to CNBC, IBM HR has patented this "predictive attrition program" that was developed with Watson to predict which employees are about to resign, and perform prescriptive analysis by recommending actions that will mitigate the risk of employee flight.

The “secret sauce” of the AI retention tool wasn’t revealed, and its accuracy was determined after the company has examined “many data points.” The AI retention tool is also offered to IBM customers. IBM CEO Ginni Rometty spoke about the AI retention tool at CNBC’s @ Work Talent + HR Summit on Tuesday in New York City, New York, United States.
