We are one step closer to resuming global air travel as a Covid-19 digital travel pass will be launched soon.

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) announced that a digital pass for Covid-19 test results and vaccine certificates will be coming to the iPhone on 15 April. The Covid-19 digital travel pass is designed to expedite check-ins. It is currently in the testing phase, and was initially slated to launch by the end of March. An Android version will be available at a later date.

Kamil Alawadhi, the IATA Regional VP for Africa and the Middle East, shared that the success of the Covid-19 digital travel pass will depend on its adoption across the different airlines, countries and airports. Many airlines have indicated their interest to use the app according to Alawadhi.
