Weekend Poll: What upgrade would you like to see on the Google Pixel 7 and 7 Pro?

Google Pixel 7 and 7 Pro.

With Google Pixel 7’s official announcement just around the corner, Pixel fans in Singapore are coming forward with their preferred upgrades for the upcoming 7 and 7 Pro.

As spotted on the Android User Group subcategory in HWZ Forums, forum user limmk has taken the initiative to survey potential Pixel 7 and 7 Pro users for their preferred upgrades in Google’s upcoming flagship-class handsets.

The results are not what we’d expect, even with the freedom to select multiple or all features in a single vote. As of publishing this article, the majority would like a bigger battery size or lifespan (67.3%) and more performance gains for the second-generation Google Tensor processor (63.5%).

As of 30 September 2022.

Camera improvements are in a distant third place (44.2%), but it’s less surprising when considering how the Pixel 6 Pro had one of the better imaging systems among other rivalling mobiles released in the same period.

It also appears that past Pixel users took issue with the Pixel 6 series’ fingerprint scanner, with 40.4% of voters wanting it to be faster or more consistent when it returns to the Pixel 7 series. This is consistent with our review experience, where the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro’s fingerprint sensor felt slower than other flagship alternatives’.

An increase in onboard storage was not available as a choice for voting, but the poll’s thread saw lots of queries around Singapore users getting to buy Pixel handsets that come with more than 128GB internally.

IMDA Equipment Registry database with the Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro registered for sale and use in Singapore.

The IMDA equipment registry listed two likely Google Pixel 7 series candidates that were officially registered between 24 to 26 August 2022 (based on the model numbers provided), but the listing doesn’t specify if Singapore will be more than 128GB for the handsets sold here.
