The Huawei Sound X wireless speaker, which was launched alongside the sale of Huawei P40 Pro+ in Singapore, is now officially available as a standalone purchase.

The wireless speaker is a collaborative piece between Huawei and the audiophiles at Devialet. According to Huawei, it's a premium, dual-subwoofer home audio speaker with wireless capabilities that combines sound quality, style, and next-level software to deliver on the Devialet sound signature.

Huawei Sound X has Devialet's patented signal-processing technology (Speaker Active Matching). For its chassis, it uses a polycarbonate material for durability and an additional dust- and splatter-proof cover on its lower half.

In the realm of wireless playback, the Huawei Sound X uses Bluetooth or NFC to connect to your smartphone source device. If you happen to own a Huawei smartphone with EMUI 10.1 (and therefore have Multi-Device Control Panel), you can use the Wi-Fi connectivity support on the speaker for audio playback. User can mute the Huawei Sound X by merely placing a palm on the top of the speaker.

The Huawei Sound X speaker retails officially at S$498, starting on 4 July 2020. It will be available via Huawei Concept Stores and Huawei's official online platforms in Lazada and Shopee. Authorised retailers (Best Denki, Challenger, Courts, and Harvey Norman) will also carry the device. Every purchase of the Huawei Sound X comes with a one-year warranty. More details on the speaker's specifications can be found here.
