Huawei’s Nova 4 phone comes with a hole-punch display and 48MP camera

The Huawei Nova 4.

A week after Samsung unveiled the Galaxy A8s, Huawei took the wraps off its latest smartphone with a similar hole-punch display.

The Nova 4 has a circular cut-out to house the 25MP selfie camera. It appears that Huawei has the upper hand with a smaller cutout when compared to the Galaxy A8s. Another key feature of the Nova 4 is its triple-lens setup on the rear which consists of a 48MP lens, 16MP lens and 2MP lens.

Powering the Nova 4 is the Kirin 970 chipset, which is also found in the P20 Pro. The Galaxy A8s is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 710. Other specs include a 6.4-inch Full HD+ (2,310 x 1,080 pixels) display, 8GB RAM, 128GB internal storage space, a rear fingerprint sensor, USB-C port which supports 18W fast charging and a 3,750mAh battery.

Priced at 3,399 yuan (~S$677), the Nova 4 will be available in China before rolling out to India and Europe. There is another more affordable variant at 3,099 yuan (~$617), but the 48MP sensor is replaced with a 20MP module.
