Huawei reveals 5G roadmap, Mate X foldable phone on track to launch in June
Since Samsung postponed the launch of the Galaxy Fold to strengthen the display protection, Huawei took the opportunity to take a swipe at its Korean rival.
At its Global Analyst Conference, Huawei confirmed that its Mate X foldable phone is on track to launch in June as originally planned. Samsung is expected to reveal a new launch date for the Galaxy Fold in the coming weeks.
Huawei also announced its 5G roadmap for the year which includes a new 5G smartphone release in October and a 5G mobile WiFi router in September.
It seems that both companies are in a tight race to bring the first foldable phone to the market. The Huawei Mate X will cost more than the Galaxy Fold and take a different approach to foldable phones by folding outwards.
