Huawei replaced more than 13,000 parts in products that were banned by the U.S

Huawei has managed to replaced thousands of parts used in its products which were banned by the U.S government.

Huawei founder Ren Zhengfei reportedly shared in February that the company has replaced more than 13,000 parts with domestic alternatives in its products that it could not access due to the U.S trade restrictions. He added that Huawei redesigned 4,000 circuit boards and production had "stabilised".

The Chinese company invested $23.8 billion in R&D last year, and plans to increase R&D spending as its profitability improves.

The U.S government blocked Huawei's access to overseas chip makers in May 2020. A few months later, the U.S tightened chipset restrictions by preventing Huawei from buying alternative mobile chips that are "developed or produced from U.S software or technology to the same degree as comparable U.S chips". A month ago, the U.S government is said to be banning the export of 4G, Wi-Fi and AI chips to Huawei.
