Huawei P40 Pro+ - the premium variant of Huawei's flagship P40 series is finally available in Singapore since its late-March 2020 announcement. What's it like? Get up close in our photo gallery.

Most Huawei fans would already be familiar with the features in the Android-based P40 Pro+ that gives it the premium status among its flagship P40 series line-up. In a nutshell, the P40 Pro+ offers everything found on the middle Pro variant, with some extras in several departments - such as the rear camera configuration and features, the heightened wireless fast-charging throughput, and more durable material.

More specifically, the P40 Pro+ offers Huawei's first-ever penta-rear-camera configuration, with a total of five photography cameras on the back of the phone. Besides the primary lens, secondary camera, and Time of Flight sensor on the P40 Pro, the Pro+ also packs a 3x optical zoom lens and a 10x optical zoom lens. Besides a broader range of optical zoom alternatives, these two cameras are also responsible for the phone's 100x digital zoom functionality. Other Huawei-specific photography features, like the Huawei AI Golden Snap software tweaks, are also available on the P40 Pro+.

Despite having the same 4,200mAh battery capacity as the regular Pro, the Pro+ packs 40W wireless charging, which is higher-rated than the 27W wireless charging on the regular Pro version. The 40W charging on the P40 Pro+ requires the compatible Huawei 40W Wireless Huawei SuperCharge docking station (sold separately).

Finally, the phone's exterior is made from nano-tech ceramic, which is more durable and scratch-resistant than the glass-backed P40 Pro.

Understandably, it packs the best chipset Huawei can currently offer from their stable - the Kirin 990 5G, which is also the processor powering the regular P40 and P40 Pro. The processor also makes the P40 Pro+ 5G-ready when the service rolls out in 2021.

The timely launch of their premium flagship device also completes their high-end WFH (work from home) trifecta with the local availability of their MatePad Pro (Wi-Fi version) tablet and the MateBook 13. If you're buying into the entire Huawei ecosystem, the devices can work together via Huawei's Multi-Screen Collaboration, an inter-platform productivity tool that requires a Kirin 980 or newer phone with EMUI 10, and the Huawei Share app on other devices.

The Huawei P40 Pro+ also comes with Huawei Mobile Services (HMS) and their proprietary AppGallery and is not compatible with apps or services that rely on Google Mobile Services (GMS), but Android apps, in general, are easy to port over and work on the new Huawei P40 phones. Huawei has been expanding its local app offerings even after the March 2020 announcement of their P40 series phones. Meanwhile, check out how easy it is to get almost any Android app on the new phones:-
