Following on from the launch of their FreeBuds 4i from last year, the company is bringing their FreeBuds 5i into Singapore from 1 February 2023.

With a similar shape to its predecessor, the FreeBuds 5i now has a snugger fit thanks to the 7mm shorter stems.

While it still comes with noise cancellation, it now has three levels of it, Ultra, General, and Cozy. At a maximum level, it reduces noise by 42dB through the use of dual-mic ANC and hybrid noise cancellation technology. Hybrid noise cancellation technology is what Huawei uses beyond the traditional in-ear design to aid in blocking high-frequency noises passively using both inward and outward-facing microphones.

The FreeBuds 4, with its adaptive ear-matching technology and active noise cancellation, could block up to 25dB of surrounding noise.

To improve the listener’s music experience, the FreeBuds 5i delivers high-resolution music experience, with Hi-Res Audio Wireless (Hi-Res) certification. It comes with a mix of hardware, algorithms, a LDAC HD audio codec, and multi-EQ effects, to play and transmit HD audio, ensuring that the original audio is faithfully always rendered.

multi-EQ sound effects include three modes (default, bass boost and treble boost) with the EQ used to adjust the sound effect by adjusting the gain and other parameters of different frequencies. Each set of EQ parameters corresponds to one mode and the user can customise each to suit the individual song.

FreeBuds 5i provides up to 28 hours of battery life, and fast charging capability to support 4 hours of audio playback on just a 15- minute charge, freeing users from worrying about the battery running out quickly.

The Huawei FreeBuds 5i will be available in three colours, from 1 February 2022 at the Huawei Experience Stores, as well as Huawei Official Store on Shopee. It will be available on Huawei Official Stores on Lazada from 15 – 28 February.

While it has a recommended retail price of S$128, customers can enjoy an “early bird” discount of S$20 from 1 to 14 February from the Huawei Experience Stores and Shopee. But Shopee customers can pick up a S$20 off voucher and save an additional S$20 by paying only S$78.
