HTC's new charger fills up your HTC One M8 40 percent faster

HTC has just unveiled the Rapid Charger 2.0, a 15 watt USB charger that utilizes Qualcomm's Quick Charge 2.0 technology to recharge your compatible device up to 40 percent faster.

Phones must be equipped with a Qualcomm chipset with Quick Charge 2.0 capabilities. For HTC that's the HTC One M8, HTC One E8, HTC One Remix and HTC Desire Eye. The charger should also work with non-HTC branded devices with a Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 SoC.

Unfortunately, pricing and availability are not available at this time, however, based on the pricing for Motorola's Turbo Charger, which uses the same technology and also offers 15 watts of power,  expect the Rapider Charger 2.0 to be around US$34.99.
