*Update at 4.14 pm: The full specs list is revealed: the HTC Butterfly S measures 144.5 x 70.5 x 10.6mm, and weighs 160g. In comparison, the first generation HTC Butterfly measures 143 x 70.5 x 9.08 mm and weighs 140g. The extra thickness and weight can be attributed to the 3,200mAh battery.

*Update at 3.36 pm: A local HTC spokesperson informed us that the Butterfly S will be launched in Singapore later in Q3.

We knew it was coming and it did! HTC finally announced the Butterfly S at a launch event in Taiwan today.

According to Engadget, the Butterfly S comes with a 5-inch Full-HD display with front-facing BoomSound stereo speakers and HTC Sense 5. Running under the hood is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 quad-core 1.9GHz processor, 2 GB RAM, 16GB internal storage (microSD support), the signature UltraPixel camera, HTC Zoe camera feature, a 2.1-megapixel wide-angle front-facing camera and 3,200mAh battery.

It is currently slated for a release in Taiwan next month. We've reached out to HTC Singapore on the availability of the Butterfly S, although a recent listing on IDA Equipment Search List suggests that its availability might not be too far away.
