HTC to announce "big technological breakthrough" for VR at CES 2016
The release of the HTC Vive VR headset in April 2016 may be disappointing for eager consumers, but the Taiwanese company seems to have a valid reason for doing so.
According to TechRadar, HTC CEO Cher Wang told the publication that there will be a huge announcement at CES 2016. Apparently. HTC and Valve made "a very, very big technological breakthrough" with the VR headset this month and will be showcasing the advancement at the annual trade show next month.
TechRadar also recently uncovered images of what the final consumer version of HTC Vive or the second generation developer model would look like. The overall design is noted to be smoother and sensors hidden for a cleaner look. The touch pad and button placements on the controllers are also redesigned for better comfort.
