HP has updated its popular 13-inch Spectre x360 convertible notebook. The notebook that won our Tech Awards 2019 Best Ultraportable Notebook category is now more compact and more powerful.

The 2019 Spectre x360 comes in a new CNC-machined aluminium chassis. Thickness has gone up slightly by 2.5mm to 17mm, but fortunately, weight remains the same at 1.3kg.

The design looks to be largely similar with angled corners that house various connectors.

The increased thickness is largely due to a more elaborate cooling system. It now has two fans, three heat pipes, and larger intakes and vents to improve circulation.

The display is still 13.3 inches large but it now has smaller bezels above and below the display. A Full-HD display comes as standard but users can also opt for a 4K OLED display.

Inside, the new Spectre x360 will be powered by Intel's newest 10th generation Ice Lake processors. Various configurations will be available but here's what users can expect:

  • Up to Core i7-1065G7
  • Intel Iris Plus graphics
  • Up to 16GB DDR4-3200 memory
  • Up to 1TB SSD
  • 1 x USB-A (USB 3.1 Gen 1)
  • 2 x USB-C (Thunderbolt 3/USB 3.1 Gen 2)
  • micro-SD card reader
  • Wi-Fi 6 support + Bluetooth 5.0

And since this is a Project Athena-class notebook, HP is claiming that the new Spectre x360 will offer up to 22 hours of battery life, courtesy of a sizable 60Wh battery.

The new Spectre x360 will go on sale in the US this month with prices starting at US$1,099.99 (~S$1,524) for models with an LCD display. Models with OLED displays will start at US$1,499.99 (~S$2,078).

The new HP Spectre x360 13 is now available in Singapore and prices with start at S$2,399. For this price, you'll get a model with the Core i5-1035G4 processor with 8GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD.
