HP launches sleek new notebooks, 35-inch Omen gaming monitor, next-gen Sprout Pro and more!

HP Inc. launches a slew of new computing products from sleek notebooks to the next-gen Sprout immersive PC!

At CES 2017, HP Inc. announced a wide range of new computing products. First of all, the company has updated the HP Spectre x360 that sports a 7th generation Intel Core i7-7500U CPU, with 16GB of DDR4 system memory. It also features NVIDIA GeForce GTX 940M graphics chipset with 2GB of DDR5 video memory. Its storage consists of a 256GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD, and its 15.6”, touch-enabled, ultra HD display sports a narrow bezel and has a maximum resolution of 3,840- x 2,160 pixels. The Spectre x360 features HP Wide Vision FHD IR camera with support for Windows Hello. It weighs just 2kg and runs on Windows 10 Home.

The other notebook announced is the HP EliteBook x360 and from its specifications sheet, it appears this notebook has more leeway for its hardware specs. For a start, you can choose from the latest dual-core, Kaby Lake mobile CPUs comprising the Intel Core i5-7200U, Core i5-7300U, or the top-end Core i7-7600U, which is rated to operate at 2.9GHz, and up to 3.9GHz with Intel Turbo Boost. As for its operating system, HP Inc. recommends 64-bit Windows Pro 10 but you are also free to choose Windows 10 Home (64-bit). The new HP EliteBook x360 features 16GB of DDR4 RAM and its graphics computing needs are handled by Intel HD Graphics 620, the on-board graphics engine block of the available CPUs. Its 13.3-inch, full HD touch-enabled screen boasts of a maximum resolution of 1,920- x 1080 pixels. There are also a few options for storage; you can start with a 128GB M.2 SSD and scale up to a 512GB M.2 PCIe NVMe TLC-based SSD. The notebook features an IR camera that supports Windows Hello. Its weight starts from 1.28kg onwards, and it will be slated for retail in late February 2017.

Recall the HP Sprout immersive desktop PC? Well, meet the next-generation Sprout Pro that features a 7th-gen quad-core Intel Core i7-7700T CPU; however, its board’s chipset is listed as Intel H170, the previous generation chipset. It operates on Windows 10 Pro (64-bit) and the entire gesture-enabled AIO has been updated to support HP 3D Scan Software Pro v5. Compared to the old Sprout, the Sprout Pro is able to capture 3D models that are placed on its HP Touch Mat. It can support up to 16GB of DDR4 RAM, and in order to enjoy 3D scanning capabilities, you have to opt for a discrete graphics chipset, courtesy of the NVIDIA GeForce GT 960M.

Speaking of A-I-Os, there’s the new HP Envy Curved All-in-One 34 that features a curved 34-inch WQHD display with a maximum resolution of 3,440- by 1440 pixels. It has the same Intel Core i7 CPU as the Sprout Pro; however, the HP Envy Curved A-I-O 34 features the AMD Radeon RX460, with 4GB of DDR5 video memory, GPU. It sports a single USB-C Thunderbolt port for data transfer or to connect another external display. The HP Envy Curved All-in-One 34 will be available from mid-January 2017.

Last of all, targeted at PC gamers, the 35-inch Omen X 35 curved display has a 21:9 aspect format with a maximum resolution of 3,440- by 1,440 pixels. It supports NVIDIA G-Sync technology that will prevent “tears” at high framerates. The HP Omen X 35 is expected to be on sale from the end of February 2017.
