HP Inc. has just announced the launch of entry workstations, targeted at market segments that include creative professionals, product designers, architects, and even ubiquitous office workers.

The new enterprise entrants feature new hardware with performance improvements with expandability options for future upgrades. The workstations also come with hardware-based security solutions that include HP Sure Start Gen4 3 and HP Sure Run 4. They provide protection against malware at the BIOS and operating environment levels.

Out of the four workstations, three of them are from the HP Z2 family. Like a big brother, the HP Z2 G4 Tower workstation is your standard desktop workhorse that supports the latest generation Intel Core and Intel Xeon processors.

The HP Z2 G4 workstation is installed with an NVIDIA Quadro P2000 professional graphics card. It supports up to a pair of such cards.

Its mid-tower chassis is meant for expansion options, it even features a pair of 5.25-inch bays for customers who still need optical drives. Its façade has undergone a facelift, with its chiselled front cover. The front cover also features dust filters that will enhance the machine’s reliability, even if it has been deployed in a dusty work environment.

HP Z2 SFF G4 workstation features the same chiselled look at the HP Z2 G4 Tower.

For workspaces with limited space, there are the HP Z2 Small Form Factor (SFF) G4 and the HP Z2 G4 Mini. Although they are smaller in stature than the HP Z2 G4 Tower, the former workstations are not lacking in compute prowess. The HP Z2 SFF G4 workstation has 50% performance improvement over its predecessors.

The HP Z2 SFF G4 ships with four PCIe expansion slots and two M.2 storage slots.

The HP Z2 SFF G4 supports the latest generation hexa-core Intel Xeon CPUs, and it features Flex-IO, i.e., flexible I/O options for freeing up PCIe expansion slots and for legacy ports support. The system ships with four PCIe expansion slots and two M.2 storage slots.

The HP EliteDesk 800 workstation is ISV (Independent Software Vendor) certified for design and CAD software.

To meet the demands of professional customers, the HP EliteDesk 800 workstation comes with ISV certification and the system is meant for 2D/3D design and drafting work. It is certified to support SolidWorks and AutoCAD for reliable performance. The workstation is VR Ready with its NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 graphics card. To top things off, the workstation includes specialized customer support for enhanced reliability.

The new HP Z2 family marks a refresh of the entry-level offerings for the entire HP Z workstation lineup.

In terms of availability, the HP Tower G4, priced from S$1,499 onwards, and the HP Z2 SFF G4, priced from S$1,299 onwards, will be available in September this year. This applies for the HP Z2 Mini G4, which has a starting price of S$1,799.
