HP announces new range of affordable Pavilion notebooks

Alongside the new Envy and Envy x360 notebooks, HP also announced the availability of its new Pavilion notebooks. With convertible and even gaming variants to choose from, it looks like there is bound to be something for everyone.

The Pavilion 14 and 15 are two of HP's most affordable notebooks, but they still offer a lot for the money. Unlike some of its rivals who have all-plastic chassis, the panel behind the display and the keyboard panel are both aluminum. Additionally, these are HP's thinnest and most portable Pavilion notebooks ever. The Pavilion 14 and 15 are both 17.9mm thick, while the Pavilion 14 weighs 1.6kg and the Pavilion 15 is 1.85kg.

Buyers will be able to choose between Intel and AMD variants. The Intel models will be powered by 8th Generation Core processors and will come with optional NVIDIA GeForce MX 150 discrete graphics, whereas the AMD models will come with Radeon Vega graphics.

The Pavilion 14 and 15 will be available from June 29. Prices of the Pavilion 14 will begin from $1,399, while prices of the Pavilion 15 will begin from $1,249.

The Pavilion x360 is HP's idea of an entry-level convertible notebook. It comes with a 14-inch display and will be powered by Intel's newest 8th generation Core processors. There will be no AMD variant for the Pavilion x360.

The newest Pavilion x360 is also substantially thinner and lighter too, measuring 19.7mm thick and weighing 1.59kg. Select models will also come with what HP calls a "World Facing Camera", which is a 120-degree wide-angle camera for augmented reality overlays.

The Pavilion x360 will go on sale on June 29 with prices starting from $1,349.

Mainstream gaming machines are all the rage now and so it only makes sense of HP to come up with a Pavilion-branded gaming notebook. The Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15 comes with a 15-inch display and is powered by Intel's newest 8th generation quad-core Core processors. Users can also spec their Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15 with up to an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 GPU.

The Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15 will also go on sale on June 29 with prices starting from $1,599.
