HP announces Device-as-a-Service program to help businesses update PC infrastructures

HP announced its Device-as-a-Service program at its HP PPS Innovation Day for Asia Pacific and Japan, which allows enterprises to focus on their customers without worrying about their PC infrastructure.

At the HP Printing and Personal Systems (PPS) Innovation Day today, HP announced that it is offering a Device-as-a-Service (DaaS) program to help enterprises in the Asia Pacific keep their PC infrastructure up to date.

Employee productivity depends a lot on the quality and robustness of the PC technologies available to them, and HP’s DaaS program will allow enterprises to more easily acquire, deploy, manage and update their infrastructures. This also enables businesses to save time and costs in navigating the complex procedures that come with procuring and managing the necessary hardware.

HP DaaS positions customers’ PCs as utilities in their own right, where they pay one price per seat on a monthly basis over a three- or four-year period. They also get customized services from HP like PC configuration and installation, on-site repairs and data migration. This essentially frees enterprises to pay attention to what really matters - growing their business and focusing on their customers.

A DaaS contract means that customers no longer have to pay the upfront cost of buying new PCs as the contract covers everything from services to support and disposal of old PCs. All aspects of the upgrading and maintenance process are covered under the same contract, so enterprise customers get to enjoy more predictable costs and no longer have to juggle multiple contracts for PC acquisition and setup.

HP’s DaaS is currently available in the following Asia Pacific countries:- Australia, China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand. It is scheduled to be introduced in India by the end of October.
