Honor reportedly plans to ship more than 100 million phones in 2021
Honor plans to ship more smartphones than its former parent company in 2021.
Nikkei Asian Review reports that Honor has plans to increase smartphone production by 40% to about 100 million units in 2021. On the other hand, Huawei is said to have plans to ship about 60 million units next year.
Honor has started discussions with U.S component suppliers even though the U.S trade restrictions could be a potential barrier. However, U.S component suppliers are expected to ink deals with Honor later this month. Qualcomm and MediaTek are reportedly in talks with Honor.
Huawei was forced to sell Honor last month to Shenzhen Zhixin New Information Technology Co. Ltd. so as to ensure the latter's survival.
