The latest update for Honkai: Star Rail, Version 2.0, titled If One Dreams At Midnight, is set to release on 6 February across PC, PlayStation 5, iOS, and Android. This significant update introduces a new story arc centered around the Penacony realm, a planet previously known as a frontier prison, now a hub attracting interstellar celebrities. The update spans from versions 2.0 to 2.2, with an epilogue planned for version 2.3.

In this update, players will get to explore the Golden Hour in the dream realm known as Dream's Edge, a unique area under construction by artists, architects, and scholars hired by The Family. This introduces a novel gameplay element where players can use the Dream’s Eye device to connect paths with significant height differences, allowing for new exploration possibilities.

Version 2.0 also brings three new playable characters. Black Swan, a 5-star character, serves as an oracle and Memokeeper, capable of inflicting a stackable damage-over-time effect called Arcana on enemies. Sparkle, another 5-star character, known as the Masked Fool, boosts team’s maximum Skill Points and provides strategic battle advantages. Misha, a 4-star character and local Penaconian, increases damage based on Skill Points used and has a chance to Freeze targets.

The update includes system optimisations and new features in the Relic system, allowing for quick enhancement of Relics and a new recommendation menu to assist players in selecting suitable sets for each character. Additionally, new Ascension and Traces level-up materials will be available, and the Forgotten Hall and Pure Fiction modes will receive updates, introducing new options and stages.
