HMD sold more Nokia phones than Sony, Google and OnePlus in Q4 2017
Close to a year after entering the market with three Nokia-branded Android phones, HMD has reportedly sold more phones than HTC, Google, Sony, OnePlus and other phone vendors in Q4 2017.
TechRadar received a revised report from Counterpoint which reveals that HMD Global has sold 4.4 million smartphones in Q4 2017. Counterpoint analyst Neil Shah added on Twitter that HMD Global's sales in the quarter is bigger than HTC, Sony, Google, Alcatel, Lenovo, OnePlus, Gionee, Meizu, Coolpad and ASUS. Shah also stated that this places Nokia just outside the top 10 smartphone brand in terms of market share.
Looking ahead, HMD Global is expected to unveil new smartphones at Mobile World Congress 2018 including the global availability of the Nokia 3310 4G.
