Hisense turns to mini-LED to power their new 8K TVs

Hisense announced a new ULED 8K Mini-LED series and other ULED powered TVs for 2022 as part of their CES 2022 event.

Mini-LED to power through 2022

Hisense's 2022 ULED TVs will have screen sizes ranging from 50- to 85-inches. They also come with Google TV, voice commands, HDR10 and 10+, and features like Dolby Vision IQ and Atmos.

Their updated U6H series will feature access to Google TV. Dolby, Vision IQ and Atmos are included along with HDR10 and 10+. For gamers, there is ultra-high-speed HDMI, variable refresh rate (VRR), and a game mode all for under US$1,000.

Their U7H TVs can also serve as gaming monitors with 120Hz refresh rate, up to 1,000 nits of brightness, support for Game Mode Plus, Google TV, and Filmmaker Mode. Voice commands will also be supported.

The U8H series range from 50- to 75-inches. This also marks the start mini-LED powered ULED range. It features 120Hz refresh rate and 1,500 nits of brightness, iMax Enhanced, Dolby Vision IQ, Dolby Atmos, HDR10 and HDR10+ to deliver an excellent viewing experience.

Finally, the U9H will deliver what Hisense calls the “best of the best” experience. Mini-LED based and available only in a single 75-inch display, it is designed to deliver a viewing experience with better contrast, brighter images, and impressive colours. We’ve been told that it has an upgraded processor (but not what it is), for better performance. Its 120Hz refresh rate is the same as the others, but the included support for FreeSync is nice. Sound is also improved with speakers on the top and bottom for a more immersive experience.
