Huawei is the up and coming phone brand to watch out this year.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Huawei reported a full-year revenue of 390 billion yuan (~US$60.1 billion) in 2015 which is an increase of 35% from 2014. Besides seeing "a solid increase in profits and cash flow", Huawei shipped about 100 million smartphones in 2015.

In Q3 2015, Huawei overtook Xiaomi to be China's top phone vendor with a whopping 81% year-on-year shipment growth. Its Honor lineup helped Huawei become the second biggest seller of Android phones in Europe. Its rising prominence in the mobile phone industry also attracted former Apple creative director Abigail Brody to join the Chinese company as its Chief UX designer and Vice President of Huawei Device & Consumer. If you travel within the European countries, it's easy to notice their prominent and stylish branding campaigns that certainly raises the brand's profile.

The past year also saw Huawei release several strong offerings such as the Nexus 6P, the Huawei Watch and the Mate 8. With a rumored partnership with Google to manufacture the next generation Nexus 7 tablet, there is every reason to believe the year ahead will be a fantastic one for the Chinese company.
