While Samsung has yet to talk about the Galaxy Z Fold 2 in detail (that’s planned for Sep 1), it can’t stop others from doing so.

In fact, over at YouTube, there’s now a video ‘review’ by 灵感研究所. While the reviewer mentions the foldable phone used in his video isn’t a mass production unit, it’s still fully operational, which means he’s able to show quite a bit of the device in action.

To summarise (the video is in Mandarin), the reviewer is impressed by the phone’s 6.2-inch, 2,326 x 840-pixel external display, which is a big upgrade, usability-wise, from the Fold 1’s 4.6-inch screen.

Expectedly, he also praises the internal 7.6-inch, 2K UTG display, especially its 120Hz refresh rate and lack of a camera notch on the top right. He also says that the crease is now more obvious and the display comes pre-installed with a screen protector.

The video also provides a clear view of the phone’s frame, which isn’t as rounded as before. The rear camera bulge is cited as a negative as it makes the phone rock when it’s placed down on the table. Additionally, the reviewer says that the Z Fold 2 has very loud built-in speakers.

Like the Galaxy Z Flip, the Z Fold 2’s hinge is stiff enough to hold the screen steady at different angles. When unfolded, the 6.2-inch external display can also be used as a viewfinder, useful if you want to take selfies with the main rear camera.

Other specs mentioned in the video include the Snapdragon 865 Plus processor, 12GB RAM and 4,500mAh battery, which supports 25W fast wired charging, 11W wireless charging and reverse wireless charging.

The video also mentions Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 support, but that should be an error stemming from the fact that the Z Fold 2 uses Qualcomm’s FastConnect 6900 platform. While the standard FastConnect 6900 does support Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2, the particular FastConnect 6900 on the Z Fold 2 doesn’t.
